Jersey City has formally ended its plan to host a Centre Pompidou satellite, following the revelation that the city spent more than $20 million on consultants for a museum that never came to fruition.
Mayor James Solomon announced a pivot: the site at 808 Pavonia Ave will now be incorporated into the Artwalk Towers project, which is expected to include affordable housing and community space in partnership with the Kushner Real Estate Group.
Despite the cancellation, the 30‑year tax abatement originally tied to the museum project remains active.
